On March 11, 2005, a routine day at the Fulton County Courthouse turned into a horrific tragedy when Brian Nichols overpowered a deputy, stole a gun, and fatally shot three people.
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Tuesday marks 20 years since Brian Nichols went on a shooting rampage at the Fulton County Courthouse and killed four people, sparking a giant manhunt.
Nichols fled the courthouse and killed Fulton County sheriff deputy Sgt. Hoyt Teasley, who tried to stop him outside the building. He later shot and killed off-duty federal agent David Wilhelm.
