One of the city's most iconic landmarks―the Forsyth Park fountain―was disassembled Monday morning in what marked the beginning of its first major restoration in roughly 40 years.

If approved, staff will work with a contractor to remove the fountain in Forsyth Park starting in early summer. City officials said this will be the fountain’s first major restoration since 1988.
