SWEETWATER COUNTY -- The Sweetwater County Joint Travel and Tourism board has completed a map kiosk station on both Highway 530 and Highway 191, on the Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway.

So far, drawdowns this year and last have left Flaming Gorge about 6 feet (1.8 meters) lower than a year ago and 12 feet (3.7 meters) lower than two years ago, reaching lows unseen since 2005.

The Bureau of Reclamation suspended extra “drought response” releases from Flaming Gorge Reservoir Tuesday at the request of Wyoming and the other three Upper Colorado River Basin states.
