High winds spread fire to 4 acres near homes in FresnoFirefighters responded to a report of a fire near the Chestnut Avenue off-ramp from Highway 180. Crews say due to high winds, the fire quickly spread to four acres and was burning near some homes.
The Wolf Fire was reported in Riverside County near Banning, California, around 85 miles east of Los Angeles, on Sunday, June 29, at 3:09 p.m. local time, according to Cal Fire.
As the fire continued to spread, additional ground and air resources were called in to assist. In the latest update posted at 11:45 a.m., Cal Fire mapped the fire at 19 acres with 5% containment.
