The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that the northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, may be visible near the Canadian border on June 1, with parts of Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota having the highest likelihood of seeing the display.

The northern lights — also called aurora borealis — could be visible in Alaska, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, northern parts of Idaho, Wyoming, Iowa, New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.
