Governor Bob Ferguson is speaking out after Washington’s application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster relief to assist with damages.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied Washington’s request for disaster relief funding tied to November’s bomb cyclone, leaving millions in damages uncovered. Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson said FEMA denied the application for federal disaster relief on April 11 without an explanation for why.

Both states' governors said they will appeal the FEMA denials, which comes amid concern the Trump adminstration is hobbling the emergency response agency.
