Netflix's YA novel adaptation Uglies is a sci-fi cautionary tale that draws from the same well as Rod Serling did on The Twilight Zone. /Film.

“Uglies,” based on the 2005 book of the same name and starring Joey King, Chase Stokes and Laverne Cox, was the second most-watched film on Netflix in the week of Sept. 9 to Sept. 15.

Based on the book by Scott Westerfeld, Uglies stars Joey King as Tally Youngblood, Chase Stokes as Peris, Keith Powers as David, Brianne Tju as Shay and Laverne Cox as Dr. Cable.
