For the first time since catastrophic flooding killed more than 100 people in Kerr County, Texas, the county emergency management director conceded that he was sick and asleep as the water rose to historic levels on the Guadalupe River.

After the flood waters receded from Central Texas, the Miller County Office of Emergency Management coordinated the efforts of 12,000 volunteers and public safety teams to bring closure to families of the missing and ensure the efficient recovery of the area.
