Goran Ivanisevic announced on social media on Tuesday (January 21) that he will no longer be coaching Elena Rybakina. His announcement came following Rybanina’s fourth-round exit at the Australian Open to Madison Keys.

Goran Ivanisevic has spoken publicly for the first time since the announcement of Stefano Vukov’s surprising return to Elena Rybakina’s coaching team. The Croatian coach addressed the controversy surrounding Vukov’s provisional suspension by the WTA and the uncertainty it has brought to his own role in Rybakina’s team.

Elena Rybakina and Goran Ivanisevic will not move forward with their collaboration after two tour-level events together. Ivanisevic confirmed the test phase had ended on his Instagram story Tuesday with a brief message. “After our trial period that finished with Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team the best of luck moving forward,” he wrote.

Elena Rybakina is a former finalist at the Australian Open. She competed in the final in 2023 when Aryna Sabalenka won her maiden Grand Slam trophy.
