The last air quality management area (AQMA) in east Suffolk has been removed, the district council has confirmed. This was on the A12 in Stratford St Andrew, between Saxmundham and Wickham Market.

This is seen by politicians in Suffolk, with a population of just under 800,000, as an indication that the county could be split into east and west with populations of about 400,000 each.
