LIMINGTON, Maine — A small earthquake rattled southern Maine around 9:20 p.m. Sunday. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 1.9 magnitude earthquake occurred near Limington, roughly 6.6 miles under the ground. As of 10 p.m., 49 people had reported to USGS they had felt it.

The tiny North Carolina mountain town of Rosman experienced its 11th small earthquake of the year on Saturday, federal seismologists said. A 1.7 magnitude earthquake registered at 12:46 a.m. about 7 1/2 miles west of the Transylvania County town of about 730 people, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The United States Geological Survey confirmed a 3.1 magnitude earthquake took place near Minco, Oklahoma Thursday afternoon.

PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A second small earthquake in less than 24 hours was recorded near Steele, Missouri. According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.2 earthquake registered at 10:44 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, approximately 3.4 miles northeast of Steele, in Pemiscot County.

KARNES COUNTY, Texas – A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in Karnes County, according to the United States Geological Survey. The USGS said the earthquake happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday approximately 13 miles south-southwest of Nixon, Texas. The earthquake’s depth was 3.6 miles.

Several aftershocks have struck Berkeley in the same area where a 4.3 earthquake hit early Monday morning, shaking the Bay Area.

The earthquakes both struck at a shallow depth of approximately 10 kilometers, or about 6 miles below the surface.
