The antennas, designed using a meshing strategy, achieve 87% optical transparency and can be placed atop solar panels, creating a self-powered node that is 80% smaller than an equivalent planar array.

Abstract: This paper presents a self-powered, non-intrusive monitoring (NIM) unit for voltage and current in a typical two-wire electrical system. This paper addresses two new aspects of an NIM unit.
