The Transportation Security Administration does not want domestic flyers to try using their Costco cards in lieu of the mandated Real ID.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, the TSA made it known that a Costco membership card is not an acceptable identification.

“We love hotdogs & rotisserie chickens as much as the next person, but please stop telling people their Costco card counts as a REAL ID because it absolutely does not,” the TSA wrote in the post.

Starting Tuesday, a South Carolina driver’s license, permit, or identification card must have a gold star to show it’s a Real ID.

Moline’s Compass ID is now free for all residents, offering local identification regardless of age or immigration status. Appointments are required to apply.

However, if you want the convenience of using your driver’s license or identification card to board domestic flights, then you’ll need to get a REAL ID.
