The city says it can't pick up the slack if an executive order slashes federal funding for refugee services and the state follows through with plans to cut back its share of General Assistance.
The previous 40-bed shelter program will close by June 30, due to redevelopment, with the additional 160 beds coming available during Fiscal Year 2026, which begins July 1, 2025.
