The Philadelphia Phillies are seeing one of their former players land with a potential American League contender. According to announcements from both teams, recently DFA veteran right-hander Carlos Hernandez has been claimed off waivers by the Detroit Tigers following what was a rough season for him.

At the start of 2025, right-hander Carlos Hernández was set to suit up for an AL Central Club. The 28-year-old had spent part of the previous five seasons with the Kansas City Royals, but an unimpressive spring training led to him being placed on waivers.
