Former inmate at county jail files lawsuit against sheriff’s office ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Allegations of excessive force and assault have been made against two deputies in the Monroe County Jail.

A UPS facility near Stroudsburg in Monroe County will close. The facility in Stroud Township, along with locations in Harrisburg and New Kensington, will shutter, according to a UPS spokesperson.

Officials say the settlement is in connection with a 2020 gas main eruption that killed one person and injured two others.
