A veteran police detective is accusing the Summit County Sheriff’s Office of bumbling their own investigation into a former deputy who was suspected of smuggling drugs into the jail.

The defense claimed it was a cultural misunderstanding with the Liberian national, but the prosecution argued nothing about the treatment of the animals was humane.
