Sacramento Police Detectives identified 47-year-old, Craig Simpson, as the suspect. On March 19, 2023, the FBI and Oklahoma City PD located and arrested Simpson in Oklahoma City, OK.

Fuhrman was one of the first two police detectives sent to investigate the 1994 killings of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles.

Craig Simpson, the attorney representing District Attorney Richard Bower, said he believes the board launched its own investigation because of the attention this case received.
