Mesa County District Court Magistrate Matthew D. Barrett has been named as a district court judge in the 21st Judicial District, announced by Gov. Jared Polis earlier this month.

Valleriani said he believes he is most qualified because he has experience as a judge and because he is intimately familiar with Monroe County Court. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
