Maine basketball star Cooper Flagg is set to make waves at the ESPN ESPY Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The Newport-native is nominated for two prestigious awards: Best Breakthrough Athlete and Best College Athlete.
Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg earned two nominations. He’s up for Best College Athlete in Men’s Sports, alongside Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, and Best Breakthrough Athlete, recognizing his standout season at Duke. The ESPYS, hosted by comedian Shane Gillis, will air at 7 p.m. Wednesday on WFAA (ABC).
