The Columbia area will be under "enhanced risk" of severe weather from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. as storms move through. The enhanced risk extends to much of the Upstate and Lowcountry.
Snow is likely to begin falling near Columbia between 3-7 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologists said in a Tuesday morning briefing.
Effects from the storms are expected to continue in the Columbia area through 11 a.m., and could linger into the early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
