Temperatures fell below freezing at about 5 p.m. on Sunday and are expected to stay there until around 11 a.m. Friday, putting Denver on track to see nearly 115 hours of frigid temperatures.

The National Weather Service said it should be partly sunny in the Denver metro today, with a high near 18 degrees. However, wind chill could make it feel like temperatures are subzero in some spots. A Cold Weather Advisory and an Extreme Cold Warning are in effect through 11 a.m. Thursday.

It's a First Alert Weather Day as moderate to heavy snow pours over the Front Range. Hardest hit will be the foothills west of Denver with over a foot of snow expected.
