Apple now directly sells a $19 polishing cloth that it says can be used on any Apple display, including the nano-texture glass on the Pro Display XDR.

Apple’s newest top-of-the-line display, the Pro Display XDR, is out today, and its more expensive “nano texture” upgrade apparently requires an Apple-made “dry polishing cloth” to clean it.

Nano-texture glass was first seen on the Pro XDR Display, which was the butt of multiple jokes because Apple charges $4,999 for the display, and an extra $999 for the stand.

In this case, the nano-texture version of Apple's screen -- which costs $1,000 more than the more standard glass option -- will come with a special "polishing cloth." ...

The special dry polishing cloth is included with the Pro Display XDR if you opt for the nano-texture glass version, but it's unclear how much a replacement cloth will cost.

That's rich. If you're willing to spend $999 to get the nano-texture option, you're going to have to also contend with Apple's seemingly bizarre and rather specific maintenance requirement.
