The Maina Curtorim police on Wednesday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Clement Gomes, a resident of Malbhat, Margao, whose body was found at Eklate, Curtorim, on April 20.

Chief executive Nigel Howe has made Gomes Reading's No 1 choice to succeed Paul Clement, but the fee to release him from his contract with the Portuguese side might prove an issue.

Championship strugglers Reading have appointed Rio Ave boss Jose Gomes as their new manager. The 48-year-old has replaced Paul Clement, who was sacked on 6 December.

Former Derby and Swansea boss Clement arrived in March of last year and did enough to steer the Royals clear of relegation but was sacked after a 2-2 home draw with Stoke in early December.
