A 22-year-old Mary Esther woman is potentially facing jailtime after the Walton County Sheriff's Office says she left her toddler alone at a playground for nearly two hours in 100-plus degree heat.
The individual reported that since at least 11:30 a.m., a young child appearing to be about 2 years old had been playing alone in the playground, which was about 150 miles west of Tallahassee.
Deputies say at the time the child was alone on the playground, the temperature was 88 degrees with a heat index of 101, and the toddler did not have food or water.
Around 10:15 a.m., Bradshaw arrived at the complex — more than nine hours after leaving the child alone. You can hear officers interacting with her on body camera footage.
Officers responded to a report of a possible child with a gun at a playground on the 500 block of West Chestnut Street just after 5 p.m. Friday.
