Chimney Rock State Park reopened June 27, nine months after Helene devastated the area. Local officials celebrated the recovery milestone last week.

After months of reconstruction, a temporary access road between Chimney Rock and Bat Cave has been completed, restoring connection between the two towns.

The area was part of a larger plantation, an agricultural estate known for its fertile soil and rolling hills.

A paved road is complete between Bat Cave and Chimney Rock, allowing better access for residents while works continues on a permanent replacement.
