The City Council accepted the funds at its meeting Tuesday — though some councilmembers weren’t exactly happy about it.
According to the City of Pismo Beach, the new amendment will take effect in early July. James says the City Council requested their staff return in approximately six months with an update.
The change will also make downtown Pismo Beach a friendlier place for cyclists and pedestrians — a priority for the city as it tries to reduce overall traffic passing through the area, James said.
