The Idaho Sled Dog Challenge is returning to the West Central Mountains of Idaho Jan. 20-Feb. 1, 2024, for its sixth year. 2024 is the sixth year for the Idaho Sled Dog Challenge.
The 300-mile and 100-mile races start from the Lake Cascade Boat Ramp, cross the ice, and traverse the West Central Mountains, so race officials are closely monitoring the ice depth.
The actual race day will be February 3 and is set to start at the Lake Cascade State Park Boat ramp. The 100-mile race is expected to end on February 4 at the Wye Trailhead and Campground checkpoint.
The Idaho Sled Dog Challenge is part of the Rocky Mountain Triple Crown, which includes the Eagle Cap Extreme Jan. 22-25 near Joseph, Ore., and the Race to the Sky Feb. 7-11 near Helena.
