Groups in Colorado Springs are coming together to spruce up a trail. Mile High Youth Corps, Generation Wild and other volunteers cleaned up the Sand Creek Trail on the southeast side of the city.

A new public art piece is animating Anchorage’s Ship Creek trail The two components of the installation — titled “The Mother of Water” and “Water is Life” — should be completed by July.

That includes Lady Bird Lake, Barton Creek, Bull Creek, Lake Austin (from Mansfield Dam to Tom Miller Dam), the Colorado River downstream of Longhorn Dam, and surrounding creeks and streams.

The 21.82-kilometer trail from Mo'Bike to C Beach will take up the most time in the overall race and require careful pacing strategy and mental toughness. Big gaps are bound to be established here.
