CANNES — When award-winning director Brady Corbet sets a goal for himself, he must complete it — even if it takes him nearly a decade to do so.
The Brutalist, Corbet’s grandest effort yet in scope, begins in 1947 as Hungarian-Jewish architect László Tóth (Adrien Brody) arrives in New York's harbor after enduring the Holocaust.
Corbet co-wrote the film with his wife, Norwegian filmmaker and actress Mona Fastvold. Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird, Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola co-star.
