A man who accepted a plea deal in June in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a 12-year-old boy with life-altering injuries was sentenced Tuesday.

A 16-year-old boy was struck while riding a scooter in Aurora and later died in the hospital. Thanks to the community's help, police have identified and arrested a suspect.

The boy and a family member on a mini bike had pulled over to the side of the road and were idling when a vehicle struck them, Stamford police said.
