An 11-run fifth inning helped Martensdale St. Marys cruise past Hillcrest Academy and into the Class 1A Iowa high school state baseball title game.

A tag at home plate on the final play of the game gave Chariton a 7-6 2A state baseball quarterfinal win over Van Meter in eight innings on July 22.
