Jim Baker, a Choctaw tribal citizen, walked through the school's entrance gates in the 1950s. Baker said he was not forced to the school, unlike the early years of Indian boarding schools.
According to the school’s tax filings for the fiscal years ending in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the school brought in $1.5 million, $1.3 million and $455,328 worth of contributions, respectively.
