Created by Silka Luisa, the upcoming Prime Video series takes place 50 years after the events of Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049, a sequel to Ridley Scott's iconic original from 1982.

Much like how the universe of Blade Runner still felt somewhat rooted in the 1980s, 2049 ’s world felt like a natural progression of our modern era.
