According to the CSB’s report, on Sept. 29, at 5 am, a Bio-Lab employee on fire watch in the Plant 12 storage warehouse heard a “popping sound.” There were no visible flames at that time.

The September 29 fire at Bio-Lab’s Conyers plant left chemicals hovering over the parts of the community for several weeks and sickened people nearby.

The fire broke out Sunday about 5 a.m. at a BioLab facility in the city of Conyers according to Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett. Conyers, the county's seat, is about 25 miles east of Atlanta.

They determined that this was the cause of the fire last September. OSHA proposed more than $61,0000 in fines for six violations. Bio-Lab has three weeks to either comply or contest the findings.
