Former Rock Island and Northern Illinois standout Jennifer Shay has been named the head girls basketball coach at Bettendorf.

Bettendorf's Gracen Ruggles, Jordan Martens and Maddy Nigey are playing D-I soccer at Tulsa. Ruggles and Nigey are cousins, while Martens and Nigey grew up as best friends.

Earlier this month, the owner of the collapsed building downtown, Andrew Wold, sold his personal home. The sale comes as Wold is selling many of his rental properties.
