The Barrett Model 82 sniper rifle has been made the official state rifle of Tennessee. "The rifle has evolved a lot over the last 30 years," said Barrett Rifles President Chris Barrett.
The Barrett M82 was fifty-seven inches long, had a twenty-nine-inch barrel, and weighed 28.44 pounds. The M82 delivered previously unheard levels of energy and distance in a sniper rifle.
The Tennessee House voted in April 2015 to designate the Barrett M82 as the state’s official rifle. Tennessee could make history if the Senate joins the House in voting for the designation.
