Marty McFly grabbed a guitar in “Back to the Future” and rocked out with the band at a 1950s high school dance, helping him narrowly avoid blinking out of existence before time-traveling back to the 1980s.

Christopher Lloyd, who played whacky inventor Doc Brown, has also appealed for help finding the Cherry Red Gibson ES-345 which has been missing for 40 years.

A worldwide search is underway for one of the most famous guitars in movie history: the one played by Marty McFly. Gibson has launched a global hunt for the guitar that Michael J. Fox used in the iconic 1985 movie "Back to the Future.
