Next, choose a recovery email to use in case you get locked out of your account. (This is optional, but highly recommended.) Next, add a phone number to connect to your account.

In the Send mail as section, click Add another email address. You'll see a new pop-up window. Enter your iCloud email address and click Next Step. In the SMTP Server field, enter smtp.mail.me.com.

However, adding an account to Mail follows a slightly different set of steps on macOS. And, you actually have a couple of different options for how you want to add an email account on macOS.
