FORT CUSTER, MI — Police evacuated the Fort Custer Recreation Area on Monday, July 14, while responding to a man with a gun who eventually died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It happened Monday evening near the beach at Fort Custer, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said.
