A jewelry store inside the Arden Fair Mall is cleaning up after it was robbed on Monday. Sacramento police say officers responded to the area around noon to investigate reports of a robbery.

The incident drew a large law enforcement presence to the area. The Sacramento Police Department in a social media shortly before 3 p.m. asked people to avoid the scene, near Arden and Challenge ways.

Arden Fair mall, first constructed in 1957 and completely overhauled in 1991, is a major landmark in the Arden Arcade area. The site was annexed by the City of Sacramento in 1961.
