The Warwick Animal Shelter said a dead dog was found wrapped in a sheet in the woods. Authorities located the husky in August. A necropsy showed it died of heat stroke.

A raccoon has few predators though the animal has been known to be attacked by cougars, bobcats, and coyotes. Disease, infection, and run-ins with cars are generally the primary risks for the species.
