Alton Towers' new ride Toxicator had to shut on its opening day when a pipe burst and brown liquid leaked out. Park staff were inundated by frustrated riders, who took to social media about the problem at the Staffordshire park, on Saturday.

Toxicator is a ground-breaking Huss Top spin flat ride, reaching 78 feet high. Opening on the 15th of March, 2025, guests are seated back to back straight before being taken up to new heights and being spun forwards and backwards multiple times whilst being high above Forbidden Valley.

Alton Towers’ latest attraction, Toxicator, was forced to close on its opening day after a burst pipe caused a leak of brown liquid. Visitors at the Staffordshire theme park have expressed frustration at the ride’s closure with one calling it a “nightmare day” which left his son “so disappointed”.
