Tom Cruise is receiving an honorary Oscar, the academy has decided. Statuettes will also go to Debbie Allen, Dolly Parton and Wynn Thomas.

They’re finally giving Tom Cruise an Oscar, albeit an honorary one. A four-time Academy Award nominee (thrice as an actor, once as a producer on Best Picture nom Top Gun: Maverick), Cruise will be presented with his Honorary statuette at the Governors Awards in November,

Cruise is being recognized as one of the “highest-grossing actors of all time,” who has performed his own stunts and has been an Oscar nominee for his roles in “Born on the Fourth of July, “Jerry Maguire,” “Magnolia” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” for which he earned a Best Picture nomination as producer, the statement reads.
