Porsche has released a video in honor of the 50th anniversary of the carmaker's 917 road car project, in which it hints that June 2025 will see the debut of a street legal 963 race car.

“The 917 was every inch a race car — albeit one driven on the road — and we took the same approach with the 963 RSP.” No word on whether Penske intends to cruise on Woodward this August.

However, the car is not a homologated addition to the Porsche lineup and will remain a one-off special. The 963 RSP isn't the only Hypercar to have a road-going clone.

This special one-off car, built for Roger Penske, takes the 963 Le Mans Hypercar to the street, even if it’s not, strictly speaking, entirely legal for daily driving.
