Storm Éowyn is causing chaos in Northern Ireland with damage being caused to homes and multiple trees blocking roads across the province.

The home on the Antrim Road has suffered extensive damage overnight with the storm ripping into its roof space. As our photos show, police remain at the scene of the two storey family home this morning where windows have also been shattered.

Belfast City Council (BCC) has made arrangements for any bins or Bryson Recycling boxes which were not emptied on Friday due to Storm Éowyn. A red weather warning is in place until 2pm with gusts of up to 100mph expected along some exposed coasts, with an amber weather alert for wind in place until 9pm on Friday.

With today’s red warning for extreme weather now over, Northern Ireland begins picking up the pieces strewn by Storm Eowyn.

Flights to and from both Belfast International Airport and Belfast City Airport have been cancelled as Storm Éowyn brings disruptive winds to Northern Ireland. Flights right across the UK and Ireland have been impacted by the rare red weather warning for severe winds.
