Asked on WEEI Afternoons about speculation that Josh McDaniels may have been a Robert and Jonathan Kraft hire and not a Mike Vrabel hire, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter cleared things up, saying definitively that Vrabel hired McDaniels.

NFL insider Adam Schefter said on WEEI that just because Josh McDaniels had failures as a coach doesn’t mean they will carry over in his return to the Patriots as OC.

Josh McDaniels is the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots once again. McDaniels has been hired by New England after interviewing with new head coach Mike Vrabel for the role on Tuesday.

The New England Patriots are reportedly hiring Detroit Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams as their new defensive coordinator, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss.

The New England Patriots continue to assemble their new coaching staff under head coach Mike Vrabel. After hiring Josh McDaniels back as the offensive coordinator, Vrabel now has his defensive coordinator.

Familiarity will continue to play a lead role for Mike Vrabel as he fills out his first Patriots coaching staff.
