After two entirely understandable delays, the nominations for the 2025 Academy Awards have now been confirmed by hosts Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott, and now it's time for us to all rage at the snubs,

The 97th Academy Awards nominees were announced today by Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott. Originally scheduled for January 17, the announcement was delayed due to wildfires in Los Angeles.

Other shoo-ins include Jacques Audiard, the French filmmaker behind Emilia Pérez, Edward Berger, the All Quiet on the Western Front director who made Conclave, and Sean Baker for his palme d’Or winning Anora.

Noteworthy snubs abounded in the 2025 Oscars' best actress category, including for A-listers Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman.

“The Brutalist,” from director Brady Corbet, stars Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones as Hungarian refugees who come to the US after WWII. The film, which won big at the Golden Globes, was recently embroiled in controversy over its use of artificial intelligence in dialect, with Corbet giving an assertive defense of his performers amid the debate.
