A second Taiwanese carrier plans to fly to Asia from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Unlike Starlux, debuting in 2026, these flights have a strange catch.

China Airlines currently flies nonstop to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Ontario, California, as well as Vancouver, Canada.

China Airlines will be first to offer flights between Phoenix and Asia, beating Starlux by just under two months. Service to and from Taipei via Taoyuan Airport will start on Dec. 3.
