The Krasheninnikov volcano sent ash more than 3.7 miles into the sky, according to staff at the Kronotsky Reserve, where the volcano is located.

A volcano in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula erupted on Sunday for the first time in six centuries, authorities said, sending a massive ash plume eastwards towards the Pacific Ocean.
